Training Your Puppy

Puppy training class is a great way to begin a life long bond with your dog. The socialisation period for a puppy is between 6 and 16 weeks of age. During this period it is very important that the pup is exposed to as many positive experiences as possible as this will shape its future behaviour. Puppy training class is a great way for your puppy to have fun and learn life’s important lessons; and for you to learn to communicate with your pup.

Puppies should be aged between 8 and 16 weeks of age. This is the ideal time to get your puppy well socialised with other dogs and people. Puppy training offers a controlled environment for puppies to interact with other puppies of all breeds and sizes. Julie / Anne will help with any problems or concerns you may have concerning your puppy’s behaviour, while getting you started on the right foot with training and lifestyle for a healthy dog.

Please ensure your pup is on a collar / harness and lead at the start of each class. We recommend that you do not feed your pup at least 1-2 hours before class. Please bring some tasty treats along as a reward for training.

We recognise that your puppy is part of your family. If your family also includes children we encourage their involvement with puppy training however to be fair to other class participants please only bring school aged children to class.

Puppies must have their 1st vaccination, wormed and healthy to participate in Puppy Training Class. We will need to see proof of vaccination before your puppy can be enrolled.
